India-Natwest Series 2002 Champions!
Maybe this article is not spontaneous, but it comes with the same emotions which I had when I watched the Natwest Series Finals! I'm a girl from India, I don't want anybody to say that why girls talk about cricket and stuff like that. I might not play cricket, but I love watching the sport! I was sooo surprised to see England score so well. Hats off to them! I didn't even half-expect India to win with such a huge total of 325/5 though I had confidence in our play. I got a bit of strength when Skipper Sourav Ganguly(My favorite!!) and Virendar Sehwag gave us a good start. But then, wickets fell fast and we all here in India got so tensed and we thought we didn't even have the slightest chance of winning the match. (My friend who is an ardant fan of Rahul Dravid started crying when he got out) Then came the great partnership of Yuvraj and Kaif, wow! they played so well and won the match for India! That too with the score of 146/5! It was a terrific perfomance! It's so good to see young players playing soooo well.
But it's a pity, Kaif's parents didn't watch their son playing, after Sachin Tendulkar got out, they had lost hope and they've gone to watch a movie!! Isn't it funny!!
On the whole, it was a great time watching the match, with our emotions running up and down, i'm not a person very emotional, but I got tears in my eyes after our great win. There is no surprise in Sourav Ganguly showing his emotions too! It was a great moment for the Indian players after losing 13 finals out of 16(I mean, the last 16 series) I hope the same team brings us the World Cup 2003 also. Let me hope and pray for the best!
PS: England played great! Hats off to Skipper Hussain and Trescothick for their wonderful centuries. They provided great entertainment.
