YOUR horse is worth it!
I see it everyday, at shows or rodeos, wherever there are people and horses. I see a really rich stuck up person who always wins just put down someone's horse for not being worth a cent or maybe not being pretty enough, perhaps even being to slow or toe ugly. Let me tell everyone, no matter what kind of horse you own, no matter what breed, no matter what event you compete in if you compete at all, I want you all to know that your horses are beautiful! And no matter what other people may say your horse is worth a lot, especially to you, and that's what really matters. So the next time you go to compete and someone puts your horse down just smile because one day you're going to win and you'll be put in the spotlight. Don't put yourself as low as the brat that put you down just smile at her and say nice run. (You'll be a good sport but it sure will piss her off!)

That is what i think too!! I am 13 but small and i have a welch pony cross. A lot of ppl make fun of us but i :) her. I want to jump and as soon as i can i am going to start training for baby cross coumtry with her!! I could sell her and get a horse that was made for x-country but i have wanted her since i was 6 and just managed to buy her from her crabby owner. She isn't anything special except to me!! I would never give her up (oh ya, she is like 14.2 so she could do baby cross country!) Loved her advice!!

This happens all the time and my favorite thing to do is stick with my "cruddy" horse and eventually beat them.. Just be nice and those people that say negative things eventually become a clique all together. You will not be near them anymore. I had one girl when I was barrel racing say that I sucked and my horse would never be a good barrel horse, I got so sick of her crap I switched arenas.. Today, because I have been going all summer and improving my times I improved immensely.. This girl, showed up at my new arena, and I beat her by a full two seconds. She never said anything to me, just looked at me getting my ribbon and went to her trailer.
