I am looking to buy a horse. I have been searching everywhere. For example: want ad's, online, friends, and the local farrier. No one has heard of the specific horse that I am looking for. Then all of a sudden the other night my friend called me with the same horse that I'm looking for! The only bad thing is that the horse must be bought this week. There is no room at the barn that I'm at now. I was thinking of keeping it at my house but I can't build the barn in 1 day! My friend's mom's friend owns a barn and is looking for boarders. I'm thinking of trying to convince my parents to buy this horse and keep it there. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to follow? Any ideas? Thanks for your time! ~kt~

Wow! That's great! I am in the same situation as you, well sorta..ok.. well here is my story: I found this horse by accident online... I was like ehh, he is 15y.o. he wont be able to do anythign I want of him... well then I showed the ad and pictures and everything to my instructors husband. He was like wow, this horse will be perfect for you!! (this was back in March) Well, I talked teh man who was selling him from 12k down to 5k cuz i promised a permanent home/owner etc.... well.. he came to the farm (45 minutes from my house) in the beginning of June... I got in an argument with my instructors near the end of May... I got kicked out of the barn,m so they were going to call the man selling him and call the deal off.. I never went to the barn until the end of June to get my trunks and all my stuff,, comes to find out.. oh my THERE IS MY HORSE!!!!! Well, not really mine, but the one that I was going to buy! I was like asswhole instructor u know... my instructors husband is going to sell teh hrose for the man.. but now he is asking the full 12k... i got asked back to the barn this past August 1... I learned my lesson (even tho it was not totally my fault) but anyways, they still havent sold the horse, and I got to ride him last Saturday.... OMG!!! he was wonderful!! i jumped him over a (in and out) 3'3" vertical "in" to an 3'6" x 3' oxer "out" and then went around to a 3'9" vertical (and please note i have not ridden for a month and this horse simply carried me around these 3 jumps) i mean talk about worlds most perfect horse.. I was so nervous to ride him, but then once i got on and ws riding him I was so comfortable, I just felt like I belonged with him. Well, anyways, now my mom wants to buy him for me, but i can only buy him for the 5K if i keep him on the farm.. i think i am going to, but what happens if i want to leave?? will I have to finish paying the 12K to be able to leave?? What do you guys think? oh and also, I have to decide whether or not I want to buy him by this coming Friday!!!

I say board the horse at your friend's mom's house. That'll definitely be your best bet. Convince your parents that you'll pay for the boarding & stuff......if $'s what they're worried about. You're pretty lucky to have found your perfect horse. I'm still looking for mine!
