Beginner's Ice Hockey
Hey. I was wondering how y'all started playing ice hockey because I really want to start playing ice hockey and everything but I don't really know the basics and what the tuition normally costs per month (usually)? Because I want to play on a Hockey Team next year and I heard it's really tough and expensive for all the gear and everything (equipment, etc. ) and I heard it's really tough but I really like hockey and at school I play, what do you call hockey on the ground but with no roller skates? Anyway, I just wanted to know how everybody started on a Hockey Team and stuff about it. Thanks!

-hockey on the ground with no rollerblades = floor hockey, ice hockey is a totally different game! but both are fun, and floor hockey helps with your s hot and stick handling

if your worried about the cost of equipment i'd ask friends and family if they have any old stuff you could use until you find out if you want to play or not. oh and check out a second hand sports store they sometimes have great stuff that people just grew out of and it's in good condition. as for cost of actually playing, it really depends on how old you are, where you live and what kind of hockey you are planning on playing. well i hope you decide to play because it is an awesome sport and tons of fun!!!! Gook Luck!!!!

Hockey on the ground without blades is called floor hockey and I think it's kinda lame. If you have never been on a team before I would suggest you play for a year on a roller hockey team before moving to ice because roller is usualy less competitive and less skill required, I play roller in the summer when I want a break from "serious" hockey. Gear can be pretty expensive to get everything at first but after that you only have to get new stuff one at a time so it's not so bad after the itital payout. Costs vary a lot depending on location, level, age, ect.
