Calgary Flames Rule!

This spring a miracle, an amazing thing happened, the Calgary Flames made the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. Wow, amazing, congradulations to all the fans and especially to all the young men on the team. As the spring went on more amazing things happened, they beat vancouver, the "best" in their division. They beat Detroit the "best" in the conference and San Jose who were supposed to be a great team. And then to everyone's surprise my little baby Flames were finally in the Stanely Cup Final for the first time since they won the cup in '89. It was a close hard fought series but the amazing little underdogs put on a great show. They played better, they scored more goals and physically beat Tampa Bay in the final series. But due to a goal not being counted in game 6 the Flames lost the Cup by one goal. Such a sad ending to such a great season.

The Flames may not have the Cup, but they have what counts the most. They have a united city which loves and it so proud of them. The Calgary Flames won the Cup in my mind. Go Flames go!

I got two words for you: Jordan Leopold (I see someone beat me to that one though) Being a gopher fan myself, sometimes when you have a really good player it's hard to watch them split up and go different ways, but it makes it all the more exciting when you take up an interest in how they are doing. I have now begun to watch more NHL hockey in the past few years because of players like Jordan Leopold leaving the gophs and some others. I don't really mind the lockout right now though since I am mainly a college hockey fan.

Yeah, Calgary rocks!!! It was awsome to see the Flames go as far as they did...They so should have won it all...but happens. It was great while it lasted and hopefully next year another Canadian team can make it...and hopefully it's the Leafs!! WOOO GO LEAFS!!!! But FLAMES ROCK TOO!!!!!
