Side Ache!
Well I'm training for track but everytime I run outside I keep on getting side aches, like after 9 to 10 minutes of running! Is there any way possible to stop this from happening? I usually eat an hour before, and I DO stretch but it still comes back and it's so annoying, because I can't run! Help please? Thanks!

Any help at all and I will be thankful, and maybe you could post your own stories on how you got over side aches. Thanks, this is a HUGE HUGE problem. Once again, even a tip would be appreciated, thank you.

Another thing, if you do stretch how long do you do it for? 10-15 minutes or even maybe even 5 minutes? I just reallly need to get over this problem, I dont know if it's just me or anyone else has had certain problems like this before. I just really need help. Thank you.

Well, I used to get them when I ran with my older brother and he showed no pity. He said suck it up and massage it. If you just umm rub it kinda like rotating the tips of ur fingers it may help.Mine werent as severe as urs seem so im not sure. But if u can try to have music or talk to urself..do something to talk ur mind off it and massage it. Ask your doc though. Hope all goes well with u

Thanks guys, those have helped me out a lot.
Ive been using what you guys say, I stretch for about 30 minutes every time before I run, and Im running for about 45 minutes. I would say out of about 10 runs I get side aches in about maybe 3 or 4 of them now, and they go away because ive been using the techniques you guys have said and they just dont come back anymore!
Thanks again, and oh Im training so early for track because I want to be the best one out there, and obviously have to overcome this problem, which I did...THANKS MUCHO!

You need to be stretching until you think you cant stretch anymore. I stretch for about 20-25 minutes. You need to do a warm up run before you actually run. 2-3 laps very slowly, then stretch. 1 hour is cutting it close. I wait 2 hours before i run, but i have very fast metabolism. Some people wait longer than 2. Those suggestions should help your problem. When you are running and get a pain, try grabbing the skin where the area hurts and pull it while you run. This may help your pain.

Make sure you're not eating too much before, make sure you are hydrated (your body has enough water), try to run steadily, try to breathe steadily, and when you do get a pain run through it. Sometimes it can hurt really really bad I know but if you run through it you will feel so good and proud of yourself after. Even if it hurts so bad you have to go really slow keep running.
