Knee Problem
Hey. I've been playing soccer (football if you aren't from the U.S.) for over 11 years now. I'm one of those soccer crazed girls who works out over the summer, fall, and plays indoor soccer in winter just to get ready for the spring season. I play goalie. Because I am the goalie, my knees get slammed to the ground about 50 times every game, so of course I have problems with my knees. Sometimes it gets kind of gross but I'm not complaining. I'd die if I couldn't play, but it still hurts sometimes. So I was just wanting to know if anyone else out there has the same problem as me and/or if you could fell me a way to make it not pop out of socket every time I lay wrong on it during a game. Also, if anyone else out there wants to talk about soccer stuff I'm all ears. I only get to talk about it with my teammates and I don't talk to any of them during the summer!

well i do have knee problems but i hurt it in basketball. but soccer has to be my all time favorite beacuse i have been playing soccer scence almost scence i started to walk. i am a left wing, right wing, and defenders and i play almost every positon besides gollie beause i am short so playing that postion is kind of hard for me. well any ways i tore my meniscus playing basket ball so i know how you feel, it hurts so bad. and worst of all the doctors did not see there was a tiny tare in it so then i went swimming about a month later so my knee tore the rest of the day what i recomend if your knee is sore is that you ice it before and after the game. and i went to tons of doctors to say the least. and they put me in the pt ( physcal tharpy) to get my knee stronger. and they gave me some streches to do if my knee starts to hurt me and they got my knee to bend after surgery i have had pt now for about a year and a half.
you can also use heat when you are at home after every game to loosen it up so it will not hurt it depends what feels better on your knee ice or heat that is what i descoverd
hope i helped.
good luck.

i also have knee problems. not fun. i have been to an orthapedic and they gave me some knee exercises to strengthen it. the best advice i can give u is to heat b4 and ice after every practice, game and fitness session and always take an advil b4 u do any of those activities. i am also soccer crazed like that and i play keeper and this really helped. u also might want to try to find some knee exercises on the web, and if ur not, u might want to even try a brief time where u wear a supportive knee brace. hope ur knee gets better and hope this helps!! have fun playing!!!

I had a similar problem with my ankles. I haven't played soccer since, but when I did play, I was mid fielder and occasionally my ankles would pop out of my sockets when we were running up and down the field. I also swam competitively 5 times a week, so this made my ankles even worse and sometimes sore too. My Dad is a doctor and he told me to wrap my ankles in ace bandages everytime I played soccer. For the most part, this worked for my ankles, but my shin guards and cleats were another story. My reccomendation is to go to the doctor, and if you end up needing ace bandages, you may want to get new cleats to incorporate the bandage (mine didn't incorporate it). Good luck. :)
