So Confused... Too Many Choices
I'm 13 years old and I've been doing gymnastics for 10 years. I just had an assessment done at a provincial/national/international gymnastics center. I'm not sure if anyone has ever heard of Emily Ryan(international gymnast) but she trains there and I would be training with her. The problem is training is 5 days a week, 3 hours a day, and you have to come at least two days for two hours to do weightlifting and cardio. But I'm also in volleyball, cheerleading, and I have five horses and am a competitive horseback rider. I'm really not sure what to do! I won't sell my horses! Help!

That is something you are really going to have to think hard about. Being a competitive gymnast at a high level means giving up many things. Really it is up to you, you need to decide what you enjoy the most and what makes you happiest.

hi..

i had a similar schedule last year. i did 20hrs of training a week, plus i had cheerleading, piano and track. i :) gymnastics..but i had to stop it this year. (well at least not train for competitions) i started ninth grade and i had to stop. my homework was piling up and yeah...

i still do cheerleading, track and piano.. and i recently got into trampolining. (non-competitive--just for fun)

I find that when i do some things non-competitively, it balances everything..and it's a major destresser!!!

gd luck!

i know right now that seems like alot, but i did 35 hours of gym and ruggby at school...and i know like its hard to get your head around it but once you get into youll reaalize that you have time for all that other stuff too. gymnastics really helped me organize my time better. i shouldnt really talk though because i dont know what its like to look after horses. just go for it, it not like ur going to be stuck with the gym forever. most gyms you have to sign contracts but ask them if you could maybe try it for a month. i hopeit works out=)
