Exercise Induced Asthma
I would really like to try out for track and I have a year to practice until the tryouts next summer. I can run a mile in under 10 minutes if not faster, but the thing is...

I HAVE EXERCISE INDUCED ASTHMA.

It gets worse in the summer because of my allergies and track for my high school is summer through early fall. Any tips on breathing that will help me to breathe better while I'm running or help me to not breath so heavy? We run a mile in gym each day but I would like to be able to do it without having any trouble breathing. Please help!

you shouldd do it you might be able to make jv or something but yeah.. you probably want to get your mile time down to at least 7 minutes if you want to do well on jv, and 5-5.5 minutes to be good on varsity.. and yeah you can do it with exercise-induced asthma, it just kind sucks sometimes, but hey, i do it :P

if you really want to do track, though, go to a doctor. you need an inhaler. about 5 of my friends hav ath. induced asthma, and you need an inhaler if you're going to be doing a sport.

hun, a mile in under ten minutes is not that good. a mile under 5 min, yes, but 10, no, sorry.
