From ISI to USFSA
Yes, I am from the Philippines and yes, I am a 15-year-old beginning figure skater. Is that hard to believe? Well, my country is located in the tropics and there's no snow in December, but that doesn't mean there are no ice rinks here.
I started skating a few months ago under the ISI skate program and I'm currently on an Alpha level. My parents recently announced that in two years time we may be moving to the USA. I've heard that in the USA, you can skate under two programs, the ISI and the USFSA. For the meantime, I am continuing my skating lessons here, but if ever I move to the USA and start training there, what will happen? I mean, do I start from the very beginning again if ever I decide to train under the USFSA program? And would I retain my level with the ISI?
