Should I Change Coaches?
I don't really know how to describe my coach. I mean, he's nice and all, having been coached by him for almost a year now. But I have this little problem with him. I only started skating last year, and I think he's taking advantage of my not being very knowledgeable of some things about skating (such as boot and blade care and the likes). He teaches me the moves very well, but when it comes to these things he doesn't! Because of this, I have long since relied on the Internet for tips on things like this.

One time, when my skates were still brand-new, he asked me if the soles were plastic or leather. I said leather, and he told me that I have to give it to him first to be checked and that he will bring it somewhere to be waterproofed for a fee of 800 pesos ($20; I'm from the Philippines by the way). It was good that I didn't give them to him at once to be waterproofed, because I checked the Internet and I saw that you could buy Sno Seal at my pro shop for only 600 pesos ($12) and do it yourself.

I stopped skating for a while because of my very busy schedule in school, but I will be returning very soon. I haven't talked to my coach about this yet. But I am still wondering if I should change coaches because of his little bad trait. My parents think I should do so. But I am not really sure.
