What Should I Do?
I really love running. It's one of my favorite things to do. Unfortunately, I'm not very fast. I was always the 2nd fastest girl in my elementary classes, so I thought I was pretty fast. At least, until I reached middle school. I've already tried out for cross-country once and I didn't make the team. Now, I'm thinking about trying out again this year. I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers on how to get faster. I really need to work on them if i'm gonna make the team.

Oh yeah, and, what's the difference between track and cross-country?
Thank you for your help!

I can answer your one question about the difference between track and cross country. Cross country mainly consists of running events. Track and field has field events and jumping events like pole vault, high jump, triple jump and etcetera yet also consists of throwing events such as discus, javelin, and s hotput. I was a rookie on the track team but actually I quit but am going out there again this season. I am thinking about adding the high jump and 100 meter to my actual s hotput position.
The best thing to do to run faster is to train yourself daily by running. It will get your leg muscles stronger and will get you faster. BTW, what's your mile time. Mine is 6:27.
