Please Help! Need Motivation!!
Here's my problem. I have recently put on a few pounds and I think I look like total crap. My dad is constantly up my butt saying I should exercise every day. I'd like to (for myself and him) but I generally hate sports and I hate physical activity. I also happen to have anxiety and depression. My dad made me join a gym, and he's always making me go so I can work out, but when I'm there, I'm always walking around in circles around the gym because I never know what machines I should do, and I'm really embarrassed when people watch me work out. Aside from having bad anxiety and depression, I'm also very lethargic. I hardly have any energy, and quite honestly, I hate it. I would love to be the way I was before, no ugly love handles, and my dad not picking on me 24/7.

The thing with my dad is, he's an exercise machine. He'll spend at least 2-3 hours at the gym a day, ride his bike until he's covered in sweat, and he's always training for some type of iron man race. He's Mr. Athletic, and because he has the Mr. Athletic attitude, he thinks everyone else in my family should too. I am 5'2 and very petite. I also have epilepsy, and I have to take a ton of medication for it. On top of my epilepsy, anxiety, and depression problems, I also happen to have really bad hormone problems. My body makes 4 times the normal amount of testosterone than the average female. I'm thinking some of that could lead to a possible weight gain, but I have no idea. I just wish there was some way I could motivate myself to exercise. I know exercising is supposed to be good for you and make you feel good, but for me, when I excercise, I always feel tired, sweaty, and unhappy. If someone has any motivational tips for me, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!!!!!!

I absolutely enjoy working out. That's what made me put on some pounds this past week. You may find someone 5'7" and 175 lbs. fat but you sure as hell shouldn't listen to your dad. And besides, everyone including the guys' weight fluctuate during the week like mine can go from 174-177 lbs. What this morning I weighed 174.5 or something like that. But considering I was almost 235 lbs. last year, I am proud of the accomplishments I've made. And it took awhile for me to realize I wasn't fat anymore.

excercise is supposed to make you feel tired. it why people find it hard to be motivated for. i dont ever feel good after the gym, just satisfied that I actually did it. no offence, but you sound like your whipping out a bunch of excuses as to why your not motivated, all those medical reasons. its just got to be something you really want and you can achieve it. I have low iron, so i also dont have much energy, but sometimes ya gotta push urself. and if dont feel comfortable at a gym, work out at home, run up and down ur stairs, its just like the stair master machine, get a yoga mat, buy some work out tapes, do your own reps of whatever. i do ab excercises that way. if u have the resources thats great, but if u dont, work with what you have. also, my friend used hydroxicut to give her energy to work out at the gym. and she did loose a lotttt of weight, she is my size now, i am also 5'2 and very petite. this brings up the fact that you probably dont have much to loose if its just the :) handles, which means, people who are bigger then you, loose it faster. its just the way it works. anyways, hydroxicut is expensive, like 70 bucks for a med sized bottle. i'll do it...one day when i have that kind of money!
