I was thinking of trying ballet but I don't know what I need and I'm not sure where I should start. Does anyone have an idea of what I need to get started and where I can get any of the things that I need.

I am nervous just thinking about trying ballet. I'm a guy that's why I'm so nervous about all this, but it is definitely something that I have always wanted to do. Any help would be a great big help and like I said I am new to this so I need some direction on what I need. I would like to thank everyone who gives me tips on what to do as well on my first day.

Dont be nervous just cuz you're a guy I think that's great that you're learning to dance. To start look around for the nearest dance school but don't just settle for one. Try out classes in different schools because you want to go somewhere where you're learning a lot and happy of course. They should supply everything you need there. If you want you could look up some of the positions so you will have some idea of what to do. And stretch everyday it is very important.
:) Good Luck

To get started get out your telephone book, look up Dance Lessons in Yellow Pages and start dialing some numbers. The ballet schools will tell you exactly what you need and most likely they all sell the ballet gear required.
