Ballet to Modern
Hi I'm fourteen and 6' tall. When I was twelve I quit ballet because I gave myself very high standards to live up to and became depressed when I wasn't able to do triple pirouettes on pointe within the first four months. It was like throwing-away my whole life. Over the next two years I lost all my flexibility and muscle since I was growing so fast.

I just started modern two months ago. I like it a lot more than ballet and I'm already performing with the company. The director ABT came up to me at the end of my first show and, not knowing my age, offered me a place in the company and free intensive ballet training. I almost said yes, it had been one of my biggest dreams, then I remembered that I had just gotten over quitting and refused.
Was this crazy? Should I have accepted?

I know some girls who would have died for that. But I don't think I would have ever felt comfortable there.

You need to do what is going to make you happy.

What an opportunity. You must be very good. Does the company offer schooling? If so you should have second thoughts.
