Some advice from the book Ultimate Weight Solution
Here are some tips that I found in a book called,
The Ultimate Weight Solution for Teens, by Jay McGraw.
Hope they help.

Body image: With how you talk to yourself and others about your body.
Self image: How you see your personality, strengths, talents, interests, skills, attitude, abilities.
Make a goal:
Know exactly and specifically what you want. How you plan to get it. When it will happen. What you will do to prevent failure. Create a reasonable time frame to reach goal.

***Example ***
***I want to lose 10 pounds takes 8 weeks, not 2 weeks. If you want to lose weight by March 1st start January 5th. ***

PLAN PROGRAM TO GET YOUR GOAL:
-Eat out at a fast food place only once a week
-Negotiate with parents to buy healthier food
-Learn how to handle stress properly without turning to food

Define your goal in terms of steps:
a) eat fresh fruit at lunch
b) have two servings of veggies a day
c) switch to juice instead of pop
d) lose a pound a week
e) cut back TV time and do something active instead
