We're the bearcats and our colors are orange and black. I'll tell you now what a bearcat is because everyone always asks. The dictionary says it's a type of panda that's really vicious (or something to that effect), but way back in the 1920s, there were some animals on the roof of our building (very to get to the top) and no one knew what it was. They looked like bears and also like cats (no one wanted to get close in case it was a bear!), so they asked the students to vote (we needed a mascot...we had been around for 20 years without a mascot), and literally 50% of the students said they were bears and 50% said they were cats, so there's the bearcats! Our little picture thingy looks like a bobcat though.

My school is the Indians...and we're Red and Gold(or yellow... )... i our colors because they are so unusual around here. Its mostly, red and black, or orange and black, or blue and gold. We are the only school that i've seen with those school colors.

Oh yeah, i forgot to add that i have another new mascot now! the college i will be starting this fall is the University of Central Oklahoma and they're Blue Gold and White. It used to be more of a royal blue, but they're in the process of changing it to navy blue instead. i like that! and the mascot is a Broncho (it's pronounced Bronco, i don't know why there's that extra h in there! haha)

i know why Broncho (my mascot for UCO) is spelled with an H now!! haha because they made the school when Broncho was actually still spelled with an H in the dictionary. they changed it in the dictionary to "bronco" some time later but they left the mascot like "broncho" at UCO because that's how it already was and they didn't want to change it. so it's still that way today. Go Bronchos! haha

might your school have to change their mascot? there's a school here in Tulsa that might have to change theirs. they're the Union Redskins and i guess you're not supposed to have any kind of Indian names anymore or something. kind of stupid in my opinion. it SHOULD be an honor, because people pick mascots that they're PROUD of. you don't see schools with mascots that they'd be really embarassed of, at least not usually.
